New Years Thoughts
January is always the month of new beginnings and now that it’s almost over, I wanted to share some thoughts and personal hopes/goals for 2020. As I’m still working on my goals for the new year, I’ve been thinking about ways for all of us to feel inspired. If you’re like me and always have a million and one things running through your head at all times, it helps to write it all out and check each one off the list one by one. I know you girls probably are already working on your resolutions but it’s never too late to add some to your list! Or if you’re in need for a little late inspiration, here are a few ways to start the new decade off on the right foot - some that I live by and some that I’m working on myself!
GET ORGANIZED
I will confess I have always been a super organized person. My suggestion is to spend an hour or two a week cleaning spaces that get a lot of use - your bedroom closet and drawers, your fridge, the entryway of your house, or bathroom drawers and cabinets. I like to spend 10 minutes before bed just tidying things up.
TRAVEL TO NEW PLACES
I’m a creature of habit and always love going back to my favorite spots or what makes me feel comfortable but I would really like to experience new places this year. I’d really like to travel to more places here in the US as well as new European cities, food and people!
LETTING GO OF RELATIONSHIPS THAT NO LONGER SERVE YOU
Oh boy this is a tough one and a major goal for 2020. It takes me such a long time to really open up and let someone go. I definitely feel like I hang on to relationships a lot longer than I should. I’m sure we’ve all been there before; knowing that you should let go of that friendship or relationship that you know isn’t good for you but for whatever reason you always find yourself saying “but we’ve been friends for so long!” or “maybe they’ll go back to how they were before”. The truth is that people change, or maybe it’s you that changed. Personal growth is a great thing, and sometimes people that were good for you back then aren’t necessarily good for you now. And that’s OK! However, in 2020 I’m focusing on letting go of those relationships that no longer add to my life. I think you just know when it’s time to sever ties, sometimes it takes years but you’ll know.
I hope you liked this post and found it helpful. As always, I love hearing your tips too so feel free to share!
